Spring is here and it may be time to start thinking about cleaning dirty horse blanket. After all, horses love to roll around in the mud, and their blankets can get pretty dirty.   • A mild detergent
  • A brush
  • A clothesline or a fence

How to Wash Your Horse Blanket in a Washing Machine

  1. Remove any dirt or debris from the blanket with a brush.
  2. Hose off the blanket to remove any remaining dirt.
  3. Put the blanket in a mesh laundry bag to protect the washing machine from buckles and straps.
  4. Wash the blanket on the gentle cycle with cold water and a mild detergent.
  5. Remove the blanket as soon as the cycle is complete.
  6. Hang the blanket on a clothesline or a fence to dry.
