The Rambo Wug Turnout Blanket (50g Medium-Lite) has multiple design details you'll love, including a high neck design that not only keeps the chill off your horse's neck but makes it a desirable choice for horses of a narrower build and high withers, helping to eliminate wither pressure.

The robust 1000D Ballistic Nylon waterproof and breathable outer contains a 50g Thermobonded fiberfill, which combines superior performance without bulk in this lightweight turnout rug. Ideal for taking the edge off those slightly cooler temperatures in the late spring and early autumn months. Horseware combined the Surefit Neck Design with V-Front Closure and leg arches for extended freedom of movement. The embossed anti-static, anti-bacterial, shine-enhancing lining helps keep your horse's skin healthy and happy. Other blanket design features include reflective strips for greater visibility, a wipe-clean tail cord and machine washable care label for hygiene and three crossed removable surcingle straps incorporating the Rambo Safety Surcingle System for security and comfort.

  • Rambo Safety Surcingles: Rambo Plastic Loops can withstand 100kg of pressure but release in the event of an emergency, giving extra protection for your horse and preventing serious injuries & damage to the blanket. Easily & quickly replace the broken loop.
  • Wug Neck: This blanket has a high neck line, reducing pressure at the withers for added comfort while providing freedom of movement and partial neck coverage. INCOMPATIBLE with all neck covers (as there are no attachment points).

  • Secure Fit Without Leg Straps: Horseware tail strap combined with the positioning of darts at the rear of the blanket allow for a secure fit without the use of leg straps.

Turnouts, blankets, and sheets serve various purposes. Turnouts provide waterproof insulation, helping horses stay dry and warm. Stable blankets, while not waterproof, offer warmth and insulation indoors. Other sheets—such as fly sheets, coolers, competition sheets, and scrims—are designed for specific functions, from insect protection to moisture-wicking.

CARE

We recommend having all products PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED.

If washing product yourself, please follow these recommendations.

Washing Instructions

  • Remove excess dirt, mud and hair.
  • Remove all detergent build up from your detergent dispenser.
  • Ensure all velcro is closed and clips/straps are attached prior to washing.
  • Place your blanket in a mesh bag to contain all straps and buckles protecting them.
  • Machine wash at 30º C/85º F (cold) on a gentle or delicate cycle using mild soap or a blanket cleaning wash. (Always follow the manufacturer's instructions if using a blanket cleaning wash.)
  • Line dry / air dry only away from a heat source.
  • Do NOT use detergents or fabric conditioners as you risk compromising the waterproof and/or breathable coating.
  • Do NOT bleach.
  • Do NOT tumble dry.
  • Do NOT Iron.
  • For best results, re-proof your blanket with a blanket proofer to add durable water repellency and revitalize breathability. (Always follow the manufacturer's proofing instructions.)

Storage Instructions

  • Once dry, fold neatly into a breathable storage bag.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from any moisture or damp areas, avoiding excessive heat and UV exposure.
  • Your original packaging can be used as an excellent bag for multiple purposes, such as an equestrian gear bag or off-season storage.

Size & Fit

Size

Using a soft measuring tape, measure from A (the center point of the chest), across the widest point of the shoulder and to B (the center point of your horse’s rear, under the tail). Ensure your measuring tape is level and taut, which is easiest with two people. This measurement (in inches) is your horse’s "True Size."

Fit Recommendation

Our Advice: This product fits TRUE TO SIZE. You should rely on your horse's "True Size" (measured above). If between sizes we recommend sizing up.
